Is there a way I can repair a small tear in a velvet jacket?

A 1 / 2 inch tear formed on the backside of a velvet jacket that I own. I took it to a tailor who said he did not know how to fix and another suit which means "point invisible "also said they were not capable. Thanks for your help.

I want to take a piece of velvet from a surface or somewhere it will not show, match the nap with a tear on your jacket, then carefully sew the tear together over the patch. It may show a little, but it should be mobile again. The tailors have declined because they knew they could not do it completely new everything and does not want a dissatisfied customer.
