How do you really put thought into your tattoo?

I have two - one is a daisy on my toes and with reference a Girl Scout song. I was a girl scout forever. The second is a set of footprints walking up my spine. Im Girl animal rights and vegetarian if it meant a lot to me. But when I was with my cousin when she put her theatrical masks tattooed on the arms (shes a theater major) a guy came and wanted the logo for "Monster" energy drink tattooed on his ribs. So my question is - How Have you thought about your tattoo before you get it? What it is and what it means?

I would be thought to them more. I would be full sleeves designed instead to get one here and here and here and there until I had full sleeves. Some of the coolest sleeves are a full well thought out piece of art. My tattoos (50 +) did not really make much sense. This is probably more a road map. Got some in different countries, different states, a couple in Sturgis, a few at Daytona, etc..
