My dog ate 3 lbs. chocolate?

So guestbook ret 90. managed to steal three bags of chocolate chips this afternoon. We called the vet and she said it was too late to induce vomiting or use of activated charcoal. It was up start tonight, though. Is there something I can do besides keeping an eye on him during the night (for seizures, etc.) and providing him with plenty of water? I tried a google search but I found suggestions to vomit / use of charcoal tablets ..... As indicated in discussed above, the vet has been called for advice .... twice. The vet said it was too late to prevent the digestion and it would probably not fatal to its weight, but look neurological damage. I am aware that chocolate is bad for dogs. Thank you.
